SWS - I’m in Switzerland!

So today, since I’m on holiday in Europe… if you could pick one European city or country, where would you go?

It’s been one month now with the house on the market. I would by lying if I said I wasn’t on edge about it. Between keeping it clean and staying nearby just incase I have to swoop up the dogs for a showing… it’s just high stress. Add to it that we have not had ONE SINGLE SHOWING! I’m not blaming my realtor one bit. She’s a rockstar. She is also my mom and is also not taking a commission if when the house finally sells. I blame the weather. We have either had snow on the ground or temps below 40 every day this month. Only crazy people buy houses in this weather. Albeit I’m totally okay with selling to anyone, crazy or not.

With the lack of interest the world has shown in our home… it has forced me to ponder the “What if’s” of staying. I quickly realized that NONE of these rooms are my favorites. None of them are ideally designed (for me.) None of them are sunny (enough for me.)

The sales person in me is kicking myself for that paragraph, while the marketing person in me is saying add this fine print: This is a perfect home, open floor plan, 5 bedrooms, upstairs AND downstairs master bedrooms… This house is perfect for someone. You should totally buy it tomorrow.

I started wondering how other people felt about their homes… and of course, since it is “Say What Saturday” I asked my sponsors what their favorite room is in their homes.

As of right now, if I was forced to pick my favorite room of the house, I would probably have to go with our master bedroom on a clean day. I love the grey and teal tones I used to decorate it. But even more so, I love just laying in bed and watching netflix. I feel so much more at peace with binge watching television when I’m in my bed rather than on the couch.

Happy Valentine’s Day Y’all! I hope you are spending the day hugging puppies, eating chocolate and drinking champagne. Unless you are me… in which case you are hugging puppies, dreaming about chocolate and sipping bubbly water! (I’m on day 45/60 of my Whole60! Woot!)

I was never a huge fan of Valentine’s Day… and I still think it’s kinda a funny holiday. Shouldn’t we treat our loved ones like it’s V-Day every day? I think my favorite Valentine’s Memory goes back to all of the cute and cheesy gifts my dad gave me every single year. Even when I was away at college, the one care package I received from him each year was full of little valentine chocolates and knick-knacks.

I also recently found this cute card that I had given my grandfather when I was five years old… so cute right? (It was from my TMNT phase…)

I’m spending today with my husband and furbabes, watching lots of netflix and relaxing. Quite frankly, it’s exactly the lazy day that I needed!

SWS - What is Your Ideal Winter Vacation?

Gooooood Morning from the mountains!

I took yesterday off work, packed up our winter gear, left the beach and trucked it to the mountains. Since I’m off on a “mini-vacation” for the weekend with the fam - I decided today’s Say What Saturday for my sponsors would be about their ideal winter getaway.

We are spending our weekend at Massanutten, a resort just outside of Harrisonburg, VA. I went to college at James Madison University, in H’burg - so coming up here gives me that “going home” feeling. Minus the rooftops, this was basically the view I woke up to every single morning in college. Love love love!

My husband and I are here with my cousin, his wife, and their kids. As well as my sister, her boyfriend and my mom. The cousin’s clan is heading to the waterpark. My hubby and fam are all heading to the slopes. Between the fact that my ski pants still don’t fit me (hooray for being fat!) and then my terrifying skiing experience many moons ago - I really have no desire to ski ever again. Plus, I really don’t like being cold and wearing 1500 layers. Unfortunately the spa is booked for today and tomorrow - so my vacay will probably include netflix and blogging in a quiet condo. I guess that’s not really too shabby of a vacation right?

Is it okay if I use today as a shameless plug for a past post and a really fun podcast? What’s that? It’s my blog and I can do what I want? Oh right…

This week I asked all of the 2 cats sponsors about their calendars! Being a self proclaimed office-and-school-supply-junkie, I think you can learn a lot about someone based on their calendars. What do they use their calendars for? Do they have multiple calendar? Do they NOT have a calendar? Is it digital or paper?

I talked all about my calendars on monday during the Celebrate Southern Podcast! If you missed it, I highly recommend you go back and listen to that super fun and pretty informative podcast. J and I teamed up to talk all about our blogging editorial calendars: what we love, what works for us, and how to stick with them.

Personally, I use multiple paper calendars and then gCal to pull everything together. I use my Erin Condren planner for all of my weekly to-do lists. Then I use my golden Target calendar for my blog planning and notes. Like I said, gCal is the cherry on top that I use to pull everything together in one place.
