I am often referring to my “real life” and my “blog life.” Or my “blog-friends.” Or my “blog work.” It really isn’t like Blogland is Never, Never Land or some other magical place… but I always feel that, in conversation, I need to clarify whether or not I am talking about Blog Life or Real Life.

I also love to learn what my blog-friends do for a living. It makes them even more relatable and more real to me. It can also add more depth to the friendships we form. Because let’s be real - there’s often more to us that what we see here on our blogs. Remember this post?

And just in case you are wondering what I do… I do way too many things. I guess I was just born with an entrepreneurial heart. In first grade, when the teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my mom got a note home…

“When we asked Susan about what she want’s to be when she grows up, she said: Well, I know one thing, but I’m not sure what my second or third career will be.”

So here’s what I do:

I have been running my own wedding and event coordinating company for the last seven years. It’s called 29:11 Celebrations and you can check out my majorly outdated website here. Last year was the biggest and most successful year for that business.

In addition to brides, celebrations and glitter, I am a marketing consultant for several companies. I help small businesses with their social media and email marketing. I work for one large, national company where I handle all of their go-to marketing needs. All from home. In my yoga pants.

I like what I do. I get to help brides, be creative, help small businesses and dip a couple of toes into Corporate America. Which means that I can juggle my clients, schedule my hours so they almost parallel my husband’s crazy work schedule, cook paleo foods and still have time for a little fun in Blogland.

I keep lying to myself, saying that there’s really not all that much to do with my house and my blog and my business. In turn, my to-do list is growing like Pinocchio’s nose. Tis the season for hibernation. No seriously, it is a whopping 20 degrees outside of my house {and I’m sure it’s much colder where some of y’all live!} There is nothing I want to do more than lay around, wearing 15 layers including leg warmers and mittens, underneath my electric blanket, with a glass of wine {in 50 more days…} and kill my brain cells watching TV. As for me, this time of year, I am going to have to say it’s The Bachelor. Yes, I watched the three hour premiere on Monday. Yes, I have so many other things to do with my life. Yes, I was a little floored when he kept the girl who could barely stand because she was so drunk. Right out of the gate there is already drama, drunk girls and one hot gentleman farmer. I’m gonna have to say things can’t get much more “guilty pleasure” than this… well, other than my obsession with Teen Mom or almost anything you will find on Bravo TV.
