Crazy Week Caturday Saturday!

I am so incredibly sorry for my absence this past week! Our travel plans were unexpectedly changed around a bit and we didn’t get home from Florida until late Monday evening. By losing an entire work day, I basically played catch up all week long. Add to it that I have a wedding this weekend and that we have less than 10 days before we have to be out of our house.

Here are Rockie’s thoughts on the situation:

Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Challenge Accepted?

This is a semi-Wordless-Wednesday… because it’s basically been a wordless week or so from me. And I apologize. I mean really Life! How dare you interrupt Blogland!

First I was under the weather. Now my sweet Olivia Benson is using up all her sick-leave. What was supposed to be a simple doggie spay has turned into a spay + liver biopsy, with tons of prayers that she will be a-okay. If you ever really want to challenge yourself… make a border collie pup sit still for 10 days.

Challenge accepted? Great… she will be here waiting for you! Prayers are welcomed as we await the results of her liver biopsy. Until then… I will be back tomorrow with our second installment of the Celebrate Summer Soiree! Plan to join us!

So I really needed to WOW Rockie…

As most of you know, a few months ago I should’ve changed the name of my blog despite it’s current level of amazing alliteration. While my blog title is still “2 cats & chloe” the G-fam isn’t officially “2 cats & chloe” anymore. We are now “1 cat & 2 border collies, a husband and wife” — but that really just doesn’t have the same ring to it!

Since we adopted Olivia Benson (yes, the pup is named after Law & Order: SVU) Rockie has really been in a funk. The poor cat has been forced out of his nightly cuddle time, chased every time he makes a move and has to bring his A-Game if he wants to eat! (Olivia has really loved sneaking over the baby gate to eat his cat food!) He rarely leaves his perch on my desk in fear of the pooch lurking beneath him!

So last week I kicked the dogs out of the house and spent a little quality time being a cat-lady. Once the dogs were gone, Rockie came right out! Merry Christmas!

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. Personally, I hate the day after Christmas when society just pulls that holiday bandaid off without even thinking. There’s so much build up, so much planning and so much hype… then on December 26th it’s just done. The Christmas music stops playing on the radio. The made-for-tv movies switch back to lifetime baby-mamma-drama rather than holiday love stories. The cookies start getting stale and our waste lines start to grow.

I want to continue the love and joy that is Christmas just a bit longer. I hope you took today off work like I did. Let’s all just decide to make it an extended weekend. Keep your twinkle lights on and your Christmas movies playing for just a few more days.
