SWS - What is your go-to Spring Nail Polish?

I love love love all of the colors that come when the seasons transition from winter to spring. The fun pastels and then the bright pops of color that lead us into the summer… As I type this I am sitting in the passenger seat of my mom’s SUV, driving west through Virginia. I know I am a bit biased but I really do live in one of the prettiest states! Everything blooming and the grass is all green again! Helloooo spring in Virginia!

Anyway - back to the point! Today is Say What Saturday! It is the one day out of the week when I ask the 2 cats sponsors a fun, simple question. Now I’m not sure about the other’s but I know J is spot on with this nail kit. I have one as well and while it may take a couple minutes longer to do the gel nails, I love that they are a bit more durable. Then again, I still appreciate and love a quick coat this mint polish when I’m sitting at my desk on a conference call. Shhh don’t tell my clients how I multi-task! #winkface

SWS: Will you be doing an easter egg hunt?

So let me preface this Say What Saturday by telling you that my family is cut-throat when it comes to easter egg hunts. There is pushing. There is shoving. There is name calling. But it’s all in the good spirit of Easter and finding that one “Golden Egg.”

You see, my mom is an absolute Rockstar every day of the year, but especially on Easter Day. Not only does she spend the day making a delicious meal that works with all of our eating issues (I’m paleo, gluten-free, sugar-free and mostly dairy-free. My dad doesn’t eat red meat. My sister is a vegetarian… You get the picture right? Holiday meals are a smorgasbord in our home!) So she does all the meal prep, and then my mom spends at least an hour wandering around the yard before we all arrive hiding plastic eggs. 90% of them are either filled with spare coins or (melted, depending on the weather) m&ms. The remaining 10% have cash-money in them. Most of the eggs-with-bills only have a dollar or so in them. BUT there is always one with a $10 bill and one with a $20 bill. You better believe it is hard to find the Golden Egg with the $20. A few years ago my roommate and I spotted it at the same exact time… There was pushing and possibly a skinned knee over it.

So today, I wanted to know what everyone else does when it comes to Easter Egg Hunts, so I asked my sponsors. Does your family do them? Is it just for kids? Is there name calling involved?

SWS - Easter Candy!

Tis the season for plastic grass, colorful baskets and sweet treats. My “Easter Bunny” has informed me that we will not be having baskets delivered and hidden this year. Yes, up until this year, we still had to push and shove, searching for our baskets. I’m pretty sure the fact that we are all trying to cut sugar and get healthy is a huge reason why the bunny isn’t stopping by this year.

As for me and my favorite Easter Candy - I will fully admit that while I live a paleo life, sometimes I do sneak the sweet holiday treat. And thankfully my favorite treat changes shape with each holiday… One holiday you will find it shaped like a tree, the next it is shaped like an egg. Do you know what I’m talking about?

Love love love me some reese’s peanut butter eggs! (Unfortunately though, they make my body hurt. So I have to keep my reese’s-egg-eating to a minimum!)

SWS - Hello Spring!

Let’s all take one deep sigh of relief… Winter is over. IT’S SPRING Y’ALL! Thank you little baby Jesus, we survived the snow and nonsense that this past winter brought us. (This all being said, knowing that 2.5 hours north of me, they got hit with snow yesterday, on the first day of Spring. HA!)

Anyway - whether we have snow on the ground still or not… let’s celebrate because my calendar has told me that it is officially spring! Woo hoo! So for today’s Say What Saturday, I have asked my sponsors to tell us a little bit about what they love about the upcoming season!

Now as for me, I have to agree with J. I LOVE the bright colors and pastels. While she may be more focus on wearing them, I love decorating with them! I try to mix things up a bit in the house each season of the year. Despite the fact that our house is up for sale and we have people come check it out every other day, my easter tree is up and my mantel is in the works.

I also love the bright pops of color that show up around the yard. God really knew what he was doing when he created the beauty that is around us! I always know when Spring is here because the daffodil’s start blooming! We are definitely going to have to plant these at the new house!

SWS - St. Pat’s Day!

Are you ready for another installment of Say What Saturday? Tis the season for green clothes, green beer and Irish jigs. I have never really been a huge St. Patty’s Day fan - but I’m definitely not opposed to it! Especially now that I have a very Irish last name: Geoghegan! Lemme know if you figure out how to pronounce it!

With the impending “green” holiday (unless you want to be pinched!) I asked the 2 cats sponsors if they had any St. Patrick’s Day traditions!
