Bleeding Purple into the Holidays!

I am a JMU Duke.  I bleed purple, even in the season when I’m supposed to be bleeding greens and reds and golds.  Who says Christmas has to be red and green though?  About three years ago I made a purple and gold wreath for my front door.  I loved it!  And I got tons of compliments on it!  It even lead me to making other themed wreaths… a candy themed wreath, a William & Mary themed wreath, a fancy holiday red and gold wreath!  You name it, as long as Garden Ridge had ornaments, I could make it!

This year when I pulled my tattered JMU wreath out of it’s box my roommate Caitlin said “Really?!”  I thought she meant because it was purple and gold.  But she was referring to the fact that it looked old, worn out, and super faded.  She made a great point as she encouraged me to toss it and make a new one!  And we all know I’m not about to turn down a great project!  So here ya go!  Check it out, let me know what you think!

The old “torn & tattered” JMU Christmas wreath
The workstation and supplies
The golds…
And the purples.
Wrap the ribbon around the wreath, leaving space to hot glue the ornaments.
The finished product!  Merry purple & gold Christmas!

Want a new wreath this year?  Let me know!  I still have a couple “naked” wreaths left in the attic that need to be decorated and find good homes.  I think I can pull of just about any theme or school colors.  I’m not even too proud… I’m sure I could swing a Maroon and Orange Hokie wreath if so necessary!  ðŸ˜‰
