When in Venice…

by Susan

Since I am very limited for time today (because I am going on vacationnnnn tomorrowwww!) I am going to use a photo dump for today’s Adventuresome Tuesday in Venice, Italy. I mean, if one city could speak for itself through images, it’s gotta be this one. Am I right?
You must eat gelato. At least once a day.
Explore. Small streets. Narrow Canals.
Be a tourist. But try the language if you can. (Almost everyone speaks english. Don’t worry. You just seem like less of a snotty american if you try to speak a couple words of Italian) Oh and drink the drink.
Pizza. Eat it. Italian pizza is not the same as Papa Johns. Thank god.
Everything shuts down at night.
Hotel Room may actually = Hotel Closet.
Walk across bridges in hopes of exploration.
Even Roaming Gnomes love Venice.
You can and should drink the water out of these city fountains. (The street vendors will rob ya blind for a luke warm bottle of water.)
Ride on several types of boats. If you have time (we didn’t) take a boat ride to surrounding islands. I hear they are great.
Go to Venice tomorrow. Things are shifting and sinking!
This is a street. No joke. An actual street. The smallest street in Venice.
There are pigeons. They are everywhere. And they are crazy. So are the tourists who put them on their heads.
Drink this drink. It’s delicious. Times 10.
Take the water taxi. It’s jam packed. But it’s an experience in itself.
Cough up the 125 euros and be a tourist. Take a gondola ride. When in Venice…
Enjoy your stay in one of the prettiest cities…
2 cats & chloe: Venice
Honestly - Venice is beautiful. But I don’t need to go back. We stayed for two nights, basically a full day and a half. (In August.) It was enough time for me. There were tourists everywhere. I would much rather explore less touristy towns. But Venice is one of those cities that you just have to see and experience once in your life. I wish we had time to head to some of the surrounding islands. I hear they have less tourists. Next time maybe? 🙂
Happy Tuesday Friends! I am heading to Florida tomorrow! Stay tuned for some of my Sunshine State Adventures! xoxo

We had a few days in Venice, in November- much less touristy, although you run the risk of morning floods. We made it to Burano and Murano, and yes, they are totally worth it- although the blown-glass salesmen in Murano are like used-car piranhas! I agree with you- totally worth seeing, but the only thing I’d ever go back for is Carnivale- but I’d stay on the mainland and just boat in for a day of photographing! Have a blast in Florida!
