SWS - You gotta relaxxxxx…

I keep lying to myself, saying that there’s really not all that much to do with my house and my blog and my business. In turn, my to-do list is growing like Pinocchio’s nose. So my plan for this Saturday is work my butt off on our house projects (14 days until it goes on the market!) and then try to relax a little bit tomorrow. And since, lately, I’ve had a really hard time relaxing - I’ve asked my sponsors what their favorite way to kick back and relax is…

blogger opportunity, how to relax

Meet My Sponsors: Shannon from Gin & Bare It, J from A Hot Southern Mess, and Jenn for What You Make It.

Now as for me, I really have to side with Shannon on this one. Sorry J, I know we are BFF’s and that we have almost everything in common, but girl, I passionately hate exercising. (Someone please teach me how to love exercising… please…) As proof of my whole “cocooned up and sleeping through netflix on repeat” passion - we have this picture that my husband posted of me last night, without my knowledge, onto the book of many faces…

My sweet Olivia Benson and I were gone. He turned on the light. Snapped a few pics. Neither of us even flinched. Let’s be real - the second I have a sleepy puppy in my arms and a pile of blankets on top of me… I relax.

If you want to be part of the 2 cats & chloe Say What Saturday Series - it’s easy! This is just one of the many perks as a sponsor of this blog. All the money the comes from your sponsorships goes right out to sponsor bigger blogs, bringing more people back here to see you, your ad, your blog post (if it comes with your sponsorship) and your personality on Saturdays! So you see, it’s a win-win for all of us!

Happy Saturday y’all! Do me a favor and relax a little bit on my behalf, alright?

Say What, Saturday!? Guilty Pleasure TV Show?

Tis the season for hibernation. No seriously, it is a whopping 20 degrees outside of my house {and I’m sure it’s much colder where some of y’all live!} There is nothing I want to do more than lay around, wearing 15 layers including leg warmers and mittens, underneath my electric blanket, with a glass of wine {in 50 more days…} and kill my brain cells watching TV. Unfortunately, with our house going on the market in a mere 18 days, that’s just not how this weekend is shaping up.

If you’re new around these parts, let me catch you up! Every single saturday I do a post with one simple question for my sponsors {and for you in the comment section below!} It has ranged from “cats v. dogs” to vacation spots to holiday traditions, and much more! This is a freebie option for any of my sponsors {yup, in addition to your regular perks} and from the marketing perspective, it’s a great way to grow your brand in a unique manner. Let the 2 cats readers see your quirky side!

Since I would love to be spending my afternoon all cozied up instead of organizing my semi-hoarding-tendencies - I asked my sponsors this:

Meet these bloggers: J from A Hot Southern Mess and Jenn from What You Make It.

As for me, this time of year, I am going to have to say it’s The Bachelor. Yes, I watched the three hour premiere on Monday. Yes, I have so many other things to do with my life. Yes, I was a little floored when he kept the girl who could barely stand because she was so drunk. Right out of the gate there is already drama, drunk girls and one hot gentleman farmer. I’m gonna have to say things can’t get much more “guilty pleasure” than this… well, other than my obsession with Teen Mom or almost anything you will find on Bravo TV.

So tell me, what is your go-to television guilty pleasure?

Wanna be a part of the next Say What Saturday? It’s super simple - just head up to the advertising button up there for all the details. Happy Saturday Y’all! Stay warm!

They are basically my co-workers.

I’ve said it once and I will say it a thousand times… while I love sharing recipes and projects and events covered in glitter with you oh so much, I really love the community that Blogland builds. I work from home running a few of my own businesses so I do not have any co-workers per se. {Don’t tell the cat - he thinks he is the CEO.} So when I have the chance to meet amazing new bloggers who become fast friends my heart gets a little giddy.

And boy are you in luck today… because I have some wonderful co-workers blog friends to share with you! I have asked both of them to share the top three things that they think you should know about them. With that… Meet my sponsors:

Meet Liz.

I absolutely adore this girl. Seriously, I do not think I have ever met a nicer human being that Liz. I have had the privilege to not only meet her in real life - but to be her wedding planner! I was shocked when she said she found me via Twitter! It wasn’t until the week of her wedding when I realized that she was the same Liz that runs the Virginia Bloggers group. Small world right?! Here’s a few fun facts about this lovely gal…

  • I love spending my free time in the kitchen, making up new healthy recipes. (Obviously, I’m obsessed with kale salad.)
  • My husband and I got married last year, and we were only engaged for 5 months. Thankfully, Susan was our wedding coordinator, so we were in good hands!
  • I love blogging so much, I started Virginia Bloggers so I could connect with other bloggers near by!

You can head on over and say hello to Liz at her blog I Heart Vegetables.

Meet Samantha.

You know that moment when you are reading someone’s blog and they just strike you as someone you could be best friends with? That’s exactly what happened when I “met” Samantha this past year. After skimming through one or two of her blog posts I knew we would become blogging BFFs. Turns out, we have so much in common, that she even runs her own wedding planning business as well! She blogs about her life, her love (she is a newlywed also!) and of course gorgeous weddings. Here are a few things you should know about Samantha…

Meet Samantha from It's all in the details

  • I recently got married to my best friend & favorite person in this world, JC. We met at a wedding and have been together for 5 years.
  • While planning my wedding, I realized how much I enjoyed every bit of it and started my own wedding planning business, Best Day Ever Events, after my wedding venue offered to put me on their preferred vendor list. I just launched everything last month, after I booked my first bride!
  • I am obsessed with the color mint. It was all over my wedding, it’s all over my blog and it’s all over my wardrobe.

Go meet Samantha at her blog It’s All In The Details.

So now you have something to do while the next episode of Serial is downloading to your itunes. Go check out these two amazing, talented and beautiful gals. Then come back here tomorrow because I’m sharing an spectacular recipe for Clean, Paleo and Whole30 Approved Hot Wings that you don’t want to miss!
Cheers Y’all!

SWS - Word of the Year

Just like Pantone picks a color of the year {it’s Marsala, btw and it reminds me of the red wine that I am currently missing from my life!} albeit trendy, I think it is really important for people to pick a “Word of the Year.” Maybe this is the business owner in me writing - but I think it is important we all have a goal or some sort of mission statement. Which is exactly what your Word of the Year accomplishes. Yes, long resolutions and to-do lists are great. But a one word mission? That’s excellent.

Meet My Sponsors: Liz from I Heart Vegetables and J from A Hot Southern Mess.

While it has been a really rough start to a new year {three days in and we are facing an unjust criminal charge and my hard drive crashed, losing tons of client and blog work} I need to regain focus, optimism and organization. While I would love to say that my 2015 word is either “focused” or “organized” my heart keeps telling me that I need to be:

2 cats & chloe: word of the year - Determined

Last year I had goals and very good intentions when it came to my health and my life. Due to a few bumps in the road - I didn’t accomplish my 2014 health goals. Now that the doctor’s test have been done and we have the answers, it’s time for me to kick ass and take names. In order to accomplish my 2014 goals AND my 2015 goals I am going to have to be determined.

What is your 2015 Word of the Year?

SWS: Do you make New Years Resolutions?

Can you believe that we are just days away from a brand spankin’ new year? Now that my New Years Curse has expired {more on that another day} I am a huge fan of January 1. As adults we don’t get to enjoy that fun, back to school, fresh start, blank page feeling anymore. Which is why I love the January One.

With the first of the year, for me, comes resolutions and goals. I know “they” say that a huge percentage of people who make new year’s resolutions fail - but for me - they become my goal or mission for the year. And like I said in one of my last posts: the older I get the faster the years fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was pondering my goals for 2014…

I was curious how the 2 cats sponsors feel about resolutions and if they made yearly goals for themselves. Here are their SWS answers:

2 cats & chloe: blogger resolutions

Meet My Sponsors: Liz from I Heart Vegetables and J from A Hot Southern Mess.

As for me - I always make yearly goals and resolutions. And I always type them into a blog post because I LOVE the accountability of “going public” with my goals. Even if no one were to visit my little piece of the world wide web… having my resolutions in writing makes it more real and more memorable for me. So stay tuned for my annual New Year Resolution Post coming in January! {Need ideas for your new year resolution? You can read some of my past goals here.}

In the comment section below - tell me - do you believe in New Year Resolutions? Do you make goals? What are you planning for your 2015?

Cheers & Love,

Suz
