CELEBRATE SOUTHERN PODCAST: Spring Break for Bloggers!

While most folks are packing up their bikinis and sunblock for spring break… I’m packing my bags for cold weather, fondue and the Swiss Alps. Yeah… I’m kinda a big deal. HA! Jayyy Kayyy.

The “JK” was totes in reference to the “I’m kinda a big deal” line… I really am packing and heading to Switzerland once I wrap up my Whole60! While I would love to say it’s a reward for my stellar healthy ways, it’s actually just really great timing. Either way - I’m ready for vacation!

2 cats & chloe: Celebrate Southern Podcast // Spring Break for bloggers // how to unplug on vacation as a blogger

Since both J and I are heading out of the country, we decided to talk about two things we seriously love: Blogging + Vacay. It’s tough feeling completely caught up on blog work without a vacation, never mind after 7 days away from the laptop! In this episode of The Celebrate Southern Podcast we discuss how we handle our blogs when we are trying to unplug!

You can read the notes and details from this podcast episode here!

So rather than doing a post on all the lame cold-weather clothes I’m taking with me on my winter/spring break, I thought y’all might enjoy a sneak peek into my carry-on bag a wee bit more…

1 // I can’t sleep without a blanket, ergo I always bring one with me on airplanes.

2 // It’s an 8 hour flight. My feet get cold. I hate socks.

3 // Almond Butter is a must. More than likely I won’t be able to eat the in-flight food. This will be my (not-well-rounded) dinner.

4 // A book of some sort! Pleaseeee give me suggestions!

5 + 6 // My contigo and tea bags. I honestly won’t leave home without them.

7 // Headphones so I can tune everything and everyone out. And aren’t these gold ones dreamy and beautiful? Has anyone tried these “beats” before?

Do you have any Spring Break plans? How do you handle your blog when you go on vacation? Can you recommend any good books that I should take along? Don’t forget to linkup below!

I can’t wait to hear all about Switzerland! I’m headed to Scottsdale at the beginning of April and am so excited!

I am currently reading The Girl on the Train and so far so good! I also want to read Still Alice and might pick that up for the trip!

I’ve never been to Scottsdale but I’ve heard great things!! You’re the second person to mention The Girl on the Train so I will have to check into that one!

Thanks for hosting first of all. And enjoy your trip to Switzerland. Its one of my fave countries. Have you ever been to Zurich? You should go there if u got a chance. With the lake and all its amazing:) Btw. Podcast about media kit is so helpful. Lots of useful information saying that as a media professionell. And in addition to the usefulness you guys are really funny and cool 😉 I also liked the introduction and you saying “glitter is my favorite color” -that is something that stands out emotionally-recognition and all. The way you are discussing pros and cons I loved and the whole set up as a Q+As, keeps the audience attentive. At least mine….Little minor point-a tad shorter maybe? But there are so many awesome lessons to be learnt…I do not know. Enjoy your trip! xo Sabina | Oceanblue Style

Hmmm…. I replied once - not sure where it went! Anyway! THANK YOU so much for your awesome feedback! I’m so glad that you enjoyed the media kit podcast. It was also one of my favorites, albeit a bit long. That one had so much info in it we did talk longer than our goal. The next couple are a bit shorter! :) And yes! I have been to Zurich! I have family that lives in a small town about 45 minutes outside of Zurich. Love it! Can’t wait to hop over there next week!! :)

Yup comments tend to disappear. So glad it not only happens to me:) Lucky you. First time I went I had the pleasure of coming across Rivella lemonade and have been totally addicted to it;-) Was wondering if you guys are considering doing a podcast about setting up podcasts….keep up the good work! Will certainly share your podcasts with my followers via twitter. Best from Germany, Sabina | Oceanblue Style

Ah, you live in a permanent spring break don’t you? I’m trying to convince my hubby that we need to escape to warm weather with our airline points in April… we shall see!

Wow, have fun in Switzerland. I’ve only been to Zurich once for like a day and a half. Would love to go back. That blanket and slippers look so cozy, they would be great to have on a long flight. ~Cynthia

    Great podcast Suz and J.
I am going on a three week vacation at the end of March so I just sat down and planned out 4 weeks worth of posts and scheduled them so I won’t miss anything while I am gone. Thanks for your great advice.

Those headphones are to die! I think I’d have to agree with your whole list of carry on must haves. I used to travel a lot and found it imperative to have those items.
