CELEBRATE SOUTHERN: Hello December

Hello December. Well haven’t you started by packing quite the punch? If you read my blog post from yesterday, you heard that Chloe is really ill. Her vet bills really hurt my Christmas budget, but from the sounds of it, she will be okay. She has to fast for the next 24 hours and then eat bland {yet expensive} food for five more days. It’s amazing how the furbabies can tug on our heart strings the way they do. Gotta love them!

Add to it, December 1 - 7, I have to eat everything that my body hates. My endoscopy {to officially test for Celiac Disease} is scheduled for next week and the doctors have said I need to flair up my system with excessive gluten for the next 7 days. I started today with a Chickfila Spicy Chicken Sandwich and then a couple of Hawaiian Rolls. I already feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Tomorrow that truck just plans on backing up and running me over again when I eat some lasagna with my neighbors. Pray for me. {Oh, and start thinking about joining me January 1 for another group Whole30 Challenge!}

Last month I started a new tradition of documenting my month. I’ve seen this around blogland and LOVE the idea! Here we go with my second month of this series! Huzzah!

EATING — Gluten with a side of gluten, sprinkled with gluten… for one week only.
DRINKINGWine and water. But that’s nothing new.
PRACTICING — Keeping the house clean. We are hoping to list our home by the end of the month, in which case I need to keep this abode in tip top shape.
MASTERINGChristmas decorating! Bring on all that is holly and jolly.
LEARNING — what my body can and cannot handle. By the end of next week I will know for sure if I have celiac disease or just an extreme intolerance.
PLAYING -- with a puppy. 24/7. It’s a good thing she is cute.
FINISHING — our kitchen! We are hoping to get our cabinets DONE within the next two weeks!
PLANNING — a couple of nights of family fun, including watching Christmas Vacation on the big screen, an evening at Busch Gardens’ Christmas Towne, and a hockey game in DC!
READING — blogs! I have so many that I need to catch up on! Sorry I’ve been MIA!
WATCHING — Hallmark Christmas Movies. I’m such a sucker for these cheeseball flicks. Oh, and Christmas Vacation {3 times so far this season!}
WALKING — around the backyard, in the cold, potty training Olivia Benson.
WEARING — Leg warmers! I am beyond obsessed! Why did these things ever go out of style?! They are SO comfortable!
COOKING — Thanksgiving leftovers in the microwave! Hooray for GF stuffing!
WORKING — for my biggest client {PWSC} for another year! My contract just came through with them for 2015! Hooray!
TRAVELING — to DC for a Washington Capitols game, spending Christmas Eve with my local family, and then visiting his family in Charlotte before the year is over.
WANTING – a glorious new refrigerator for our new house. It has 4 doors and it’s going to be the rockstar of our future kitchen.
CELEBRATING — Christmas and then welcoming 2015!

As mentioned yesterday, I’m hosting a blogger advent calendar! Join the fun by sharing a christmas picture on your blog, facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter using the hashtag #2catsBloggerAdvent ! This will be a fun way to celebrate December with 25 days of festive pictures! Today is Day Two - our Christmas Card from 2014.

    I love reading these posts! We just put our house on the market and it is really hard to keep it clean and tidy all of the time, especially with a cat and dog running around! Christmas Vacation is one of my favorites too!

      Gotta love Christmas Vacation! It’s the best! We postponed putting it on the market… shooting for January now. Which means we can keep it messy for few more weeks! 😉

    Prayers for Chloe! After our ordeal with Buddy last month, I know how draining (both financially and emotionally) having a sick fur child can be.

      Thank goodness they become part of the family right? Is Buddy doing better now?

        Much better, thanks! Any update on Chloe?

  • Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom

    Oh, poor Chloe. I have had some vet bills that weren’t fun to pay, too!! Such a fun post, I have seen some other bloggers do this…

    • http://www.2catsandchloe.com/ Susan @ 2catsandchloe

      Thanks Carrie! I love the list. Makes me ponder things at least once a month… :)

    What a thorough list! It was fun to read. Have a great week! ~Cynthia

      Thanks Cynthia! :)

    I’m sorry about your pup!! We’re going through pet probs too. Weiser has a heart condition, so we’ve had vet visits, x-rays, and daily expensive medicine for the rest of his life. They are lucky they are so cute for us to fork out all the money! I hope your endoscopy goes well. It would be fun to eat all the ‘bad’ food, but I know how crappy it makes you feel. Good luck!

      Thanks Janna! I’m SO SORRY to hear about Weiser!! The vet bills add up like crazy don’t they?! And yes, it was “fun” to eat all that food… but I’m so glad that week is OVER! :)

      Thanks Brooke! I finished off all my leftovers and was dreaming about more… there’s something wrong with that isn’t there?! :)

    Thanks so much for sharing all that planning:) Love your lists. And leftovers and well as legwarmer deserve to be praised …xo Sabina @Oceanblue Style

      Thanks so much Sabina! Gotta love the legwarmers this time of year! :) Thanks for stopping by my blog! Cheers!

  • Carolyn Cheek- Massey

    Love your post, all kinds of great information. I stay cold and need legwarmers to keep my knees warm. Need to eat healthier this year, more veggies. Hope Chloe is ok now.
